An amber storm warning, covering much of mainland Scotland and the western islands, is now in force until 22:00.

An amber weather warning for wind is in place Storm Floris, which has Scotland battling unseasonably strong gusts and disruptive conditions. The Met Office has warned there is “danger to life” from large waves and beach material being throw onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.

Weather warnings have been upgraded to amber for most of Scotland as Storm Floris bears down on the UK. The warning lasts from 10:00 BST on Monday through to 22:00 and warns of danger to life as damage to buildings and trees due to storm conditions is expected.
