Forecasters say the system, called Invest 97 for now, continued to look more organized and and had a well-defined center.

The system has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm soon, but remains far from land for now. It's long-term future track next week remains uncertain.

"The Tropics are heating up with 3 systems that we are monitoring," the agency warned, as it shared a map of the weather patterns sparking concern out at sea.
