CLEVELAND, Ohio — MLB has placed Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase on a non-disciplinary leave of absence through Aug. 31 in connection with the same betting investigation involving teammate Luis Ortiz. Ortiz is on leave of absence through Aug. 31.
Jones, who went through spring training camp preparing for another year in the Colorado Rockies outfield, was traded to the Guardians shortly before the 2025 season began. The deal came together quickly and somewhat surprisingly for Cleveland, which sent Tyler Freeman to the Rockies.
