The Mets snapped their losing streak and jumped back into first place with a win over the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night.

That’s why Saturday’s 12-6 win over the Giants wasn’t just reassuring because it ended a four-game losing streak and put the Mets back atop the division, but also because Lindor, Alonso and leadoff hitter Brandon Nimmo combined to drive in 10 runs to go along with five runs scored and eight hits.

The Giants snapped a six-game losing streak on Friday night at Citi Field with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings over the New York Mets. All-Star Randy Rodríguez, the team’s new closer after Tyler Rogers and Camilo Doval were traded, recorded his first save (and second overall) in his new role.

The Giants dropped back below .500 with a 12-6 blowout loss to the New York Mets on Saturday evening at Citi Field. San Francisco (55-56) has now lost 11 of their its 14 games to begin the second half and are currently 6.5 games back of the San Diego Padres the final NL Wild Card spot.

It's Friday, August 1 and the Giants (54-55) are in Queens to take on the Mets (62-47). Robbie Ray is slated to take the mound for San Francisco against David Peterson for New York. The Mets made some moves at the deadline after a six-game road trip resulted in a 3-3 mark and two sweeps.
