Austin, Texas – Texas junior quarterback Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL draft on Wednesday, ending a Longhorns career in which he led the program to a Big 12 championship and twice to the College Football Playoff but was not always embraced by a fan base eagerly waiting for Arch Manning to take over.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers has to decide whether to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, return to Texas or enter the transfer portal after the Longhorns' College Football Playoff run is done, but he isn't ready to discuss those career options just yet.

While far from definitive, it is the closest to an answer Ewers has given about his thoughts for 2025, as speculation has run rampant about his football future. At the end of December, On3 reported one unnamed school made a $6 million pitch to lure Ewers to play for that team and leave Texas.
