European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has invited foreign ministers from the bloc attending the Munich Security Conference to meet on Sunday to discuss relations with the Trump administration and the war in Ukraine.

US President Donald Trump’s “lengthy and highly productive” phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin has sparked fears in Europe of a “dirty deal” being struck to end the war in Ukraine on terms favorable to Moscow without Kyiv’s involvement.

"Any agreement without us will fail, because you need Europe and Ukraine to also implement the agreement," EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said. "Any quick fix is a dirty deal." Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said: "Nothing can be discussed on Ukraine without Ukraine or on Europe without Europe.

The European Union’s top diplomat said Thursday any peace deal struck between the United States and Russia without Ukraine or the EU will fail, responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s indication he soon would be holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Europe will support Ukraine if it does not agree to a peace deal reached between the US and Russia. Any quick resolution would be a bad one and will not work, stated EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas during a conversation with journalists.
