Ford Motor Co. is recalling almost 700,000 vehicles to address a long-running issue over cracking in an auto part that can leak fuel into the engine and cause fires.

Ford’s stock turned lower after the carmaker said it would cost nearly $600,000 to fix fuel injectors on up to nearly 700,000 SUVs.

Ford Motor Co. is recalling 850,318 vehicles across the United States to fix a potentially defective fuel pump that could cause engines to stall unexpected
