American Scottie Scheffler has won the 153rd British Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. The 29-year-old is now one major win away from completing a Grand Slam.
Scottie Scheffler's second major victory of 2025 at The Open Championship essentially ensures him of being the top seed in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Along with golf's oldest major trophy and the title of Champion Golfer of the Year, players were vying for their portion of a $17 million purse at the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
Scottie Scheffler said his first taste of winning the British Open was "special" after romping to his fourth major title by four shots at Royal Portrush on Sunday."It's a pretty special feeling," Scheffler told Sky Sports.

Scheffler is beginning to lap the field with his dominance on the PGA Tour, even drawing comparisons to a legendary racehorse.
Harris English arrived in Britain two weeks ago without his caddie while Chris Gotterup flew over without a plane ticket for Ireland.
He shot 78 in the opening round at Royal Portrush and looked well on the way to missing the cut in his second straight major. Instead, he flipped a switch and instead shot under par the next three days and earned himself a top-10 finish with a stellar closing 54 holes, finishing as the lowest LIV golfer on the leaderboard.
After an opening 78, Bryson DeChambeau rallied with rounds of 65-68-64 to vault up the leaderboard and earn valuable Ryder Cup points.
