According to FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Martin and Phil Harvey — who have worked together as a part of Coldplay — are helping find artists to perform the first World Cup halftime show in 2026.

Coldplay is two albums away from retirement, but they’re staying busy until then. The Music Of The Spheres World Tour was recently named the most-attended tour of all-time, and singer Chris Martin is working with FIFA to curate the first Super Bowl-style halftime show at the World Cup final at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium next year.

New Jersey's MetLife Stadium will host the final on July 19, 2026, and a "list of artists" will perform on the field during the break. Coldplay manager Phil Harvey and lead singer Chris Martin will produce the halftime show. Coldplay will not perform, but the duo will put together the list of artists who will take part.
