Trae Young hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from beyond the halfcourt line to give the Atlanta Hawks a 124-121 victory over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night.
The Hawks played without second-leading scorer Jalen Johnson (right shoulder inflammation) for the second straight game. The Jazz were without ex-Hawks player John Collins (personal reasons), Keyonte George (left heel) and Brice Sensabaugh, who scored a combined 61 points in the last two games, because of illness.
Young had a monster night, with 24 points and 20 assists, leading a balanced Atlanta attack with Clint Capela scoring 18 and De’Andre Hunter adding 17 off the bench. The Hawks had lost three in a row on the road and could use this win on their six-game road trip (which heads to Phoenix on Thursday).
