Florida State's first official junior day of the new year has already proved to be fruitful for the Seminoles. The program has made an addition to its 2027 class in the form of a young but talented defensive back.
On Friday, FSU head coach Mike Norvell made his way through the Sunshine State. He took the time to drop through Pace High School to visit with four-star offensive lineman Grant Wise. The Seminoles are clearly making Wise a priority along the trenches as offensive line coach Herb Hand was in to see him earlier this week.
Florida State has made it a priority to keep local talent home over the last couple of recruiting cycles. There are plenty of talented rising seniors across the surrounding areas and the Seminoles are in hot pursuit.
Former Florida State quarterback AJ Duffy will be suiting up for his third team in as many seasons in 2025. He entered the NCAA Transfer Portal once again in December and he's found his landing spot. According to On3, Duffy is moving down to the D2 level to play for the University of New Haven.
Jamir Watkins dealt with foul trouble in the second half yet still scored 26 points to lead Florida State to a 82-70 victory over Pitt on Wednesday at Tallahassee, Fla.

Florida State football head coach Mike Norvell showed up to support former Seminoles for the Rams vs. Eagles in the NFC divisional round, and fans had plenty of jokes across social media.
