The latest ESPN mock draft says a wide receiver will be going to the Pittsburgh Steelers, to help complement George Pickens.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to have a formal meeting with Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers at the NFL Combine, according to a report by MLFootball. This is the first known formal meeting the Steelers will have with a quarterback.

The NFL Combine continues to be such an odd annual spectacle. There's little, if any, correlation between performance at the event and success at the next level. At this point, much of the value seems to come from the social interactions-a part of a player that isn't easy to analyze on tape.

However, Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers' meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers was focused more closely on who he is as a person and not so much the game of football. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin actually showed a noticeable interest in Ewers' academic career at Texas.

During the NFL scouting combine, the Pittsburgh Steelers staff made the rounds with many of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL draft. One player the Steelers met with was former University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. Ewers is in that second tier of quarterbacks in the upcoming draft and an interesting prospect.

The left-hander spent the last two seasons with the Rangers, pitching in 66 games to the tune of a 4.22 earned run average.
