Brad Marchand is the captain and the heart and soul of the Boston Bruins and is now the newest addition to their lengthy list of injuries.

David Pastrnak, Mason Lohrei, and Charlie Coyle (empty net) scored for the Bruins. Joonas Korpisalo made 31 saves in a rare start in goal.

Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic unofficially made 23 saves on 26 shots for the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3-2 loss against the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday. The result dropped Nedeljkovic’s record to 12-12-5.

Bruins captain Brad Marchand left with an upper-body injury in the first period following an awkward hit into the corner boards from P.O Joseph. Later in the first period, Joseph left with an upper-body injury following a hit from Mark Kastelic.

David Pastrnak has been carrying the Bruins’ offense and, on Sunday in Minnesota, the load became too heavy in the 1-0 loss.

A game removed from getting hit into the boards, Brad Marchand was not cleared for game action against the Wild.
