A British national has died in Kenya after being struck by a government vehicle that was part of the president’s motorcade.

A British man has been killed in a hit-and-run incident involving a vehicle in the motorcade of Kenyan President William Ruto. The man, who has been named as 79-year-old Edgar Charles Frederick, died on Thursday after being struck in the accident on a main road in the capital, Nairobi.

Sudan has suspended all imports from Kenya in protest after the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who are fighting the army in a two-year civil war, were hosted in Nairobi. Last month, the RSF and its allied political and armed groups signed a founding charter in Kenya expressing the intention to form a parallel government in Sudan.

The Republic of Sudan has imposed a ban on all imports from Kenya following the hosting of the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF) by the latter in Nairobi. This comes days after Sudan’s Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Hussein al-Amin in February said that the government would take escalatory measures against Kenya for its relations with RSF.
