A possible outbreak of severe storms is taking aim at parts of the Midwest and Plains through Monday night, which could produce strong tornadoes, damaging hail and high winds. Severe weather and flooding rain will then continue through Tuesday and Wednesday from the Great Lakes to the Southern Plains.

A "widespread, significant severe weather threat" will develop, especially in the afternoon and evening on Monday.
