President Trump took a swipe at French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday morning, accusing his European counterpart of inaccurately suggesting he abruptly returned to Washington from the Group of Seven (G7) summit to bolster peace talks between Iran and Israel.
The White House and Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
The US president insisted his departure had "nothing to do" with tensions over a potential Israel-Iran ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the fighting between Israel and Iran is getting worse. It has now continued for five days, and Iran has fired several missiles at Israel. Trump has also asked Americans to leave Tehran as the situation grows more dangerous.
