Alphabet Inc.’s self-driving car firm, Waymo, said it will begin transporting passengers in a handful of cities near its Mountain View, California, headquarters.

Waymo is starting out in Silicon Valley much like it did in San Francisco: it will begin with a small group of customers in Los Altos, Palo Alto, Mountain View and parts of Sunnyvale.

Waymo 's self-driving taxis will now be cruising Silicon Valley streets for riders. The autonomous taxi service has expanded to 27 square miles in Silicon Valley, including Mountain View and Palo Alto.
