The only women’s match featuring Grand Slam singles champions in the third round at the Australian Open turned out to be an overpowering win by Iga Swiatek over Emma Raducanu.

Emma Raducanu, playing in her first competitive match since November, defeated No. 26 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2) on Tuesday to reach the second round of the Australian Open.

Former World No.1 Iga Swiatek continued her fine run at the Australian Open 2025 as she steamrolled past Emma Raducanu in straight sets to progress to Round 4 on Saturday, January 18. Swiatek won the match in an hour and 10 minutes as Raducanu struggled to put up a fight against the Polish star.
