A majority of Americans say they disapprove of Donald Trump’s second term – with even some Republicans hitting the president.

A new NBC News poll shows President Trump’s approval numbers are sinking, even with portions of his base and on issues that brought him to the Oval Office. Republican strategist Susan Del Percio, Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro join Alex Witt to discuss the latest findings.

In the days before protests erupted in Los Angeles, the Trump administration stepped up its efforts to detain migrants — taking into custody those who arrived for routine check-ins while also conducting workplace raids that have sent waves of fear across Southern California and beyond.

Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill and across the country remain divided following protests against Trump's deportation policies.

The president signaled an opening to protect migrant workers in agriculture and hospitality, in statements an official said sought to soothe industry leaders.

The first U.S. bishop appointed by Pope Leo XIV has called for priests, deacons and parish leaders to accompany migrants to court and stand in solidarity with them.

The Department of Homeland Security on Thursday told hundreds of thousands of migrants that their permission to live and work in the United States had been revoked and they should leave the country, according to a copy of the notice obtained by CNN.
