The Texas Longhorns were overwhelmingly chosen as the team to beat in the SEC during the 2025 college football season as part of an SEC media poll on Friday.

The 2025 preseason SEC media poll was released Friday following the conference's summer media days, and voters believe the Texas Longhorns are the favorites to win this year's SEC Championship Game. It should come as no surprise,

Georgia and Texas led all teams by placing 13 players on the preseason All-SEC teams voted on this week at SEC Media Days in Atlanta. The Bulldogs placed 10 players on the first team, one on the second team and two on the third team. The Longhorns had four players on the first team, two on the second team and five on the third team.

When Texas A&M took its turn at SEC media days Thursday, of course the Aggies were peppered with questions about their archrival Texas Longhorns.
