Rohit was last seen for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy game in 2015, with a game against Uttar Pradesh. Along with Rohit, Yashasvi Jaiswal will also be available for the crucial game against Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit even attended the match simulation ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 un-pause and faced pacers alongside his colleague Ajinkya Rahane.

Rohit Sharma had earlier expressed his interest in training with the Mumbai Ranji team. He had approached the head coach Omkar Salvi and made enquiries about when they were going to train for the next Ranji match.

Rohit Sharma has joined Mumbai's squad for their training sessions in the lead up to the second half of the Ranji Trophy season. The team is currently having a training camp at the Wankhede Stadium and and Rohit has linked up with them after consultation with head coach Omkar Salvi.
