A Porsche initially purchased by famed actor Steve McQueen and later acquired by comedic royalty Jerry Seinfeld to be auctioned Saturday in Florida.

Porsche 917, which was owned by and driven by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans, was put up for sale at Mecum's Kissimmee auction - but Jerry Seinfeld decided against selling.

Bidders and spectators were left shocked Saturday when a $25 million bid went unaccepted by Jerry Seinfeld, who refused to part with his 1969 Porsche 917K. If the offer was accepted, the quarter million dollar sale would have been historic for the Mecum Auctions,

Jerry doesn’t need the money. A 1969 Porsche 917K racing car that was featured in the Steve McQueen film “Le Mans” failed to sell at the Mecum Auctions event in Kissimmee, Fla., on Saturday night. The car has been owned by Porsche collector and sometime comedian Jerry Seinfeld since 2001.
