The U.S. Open has turned into a sprint through the soggy fairways of Oakmont following a downpour that caused a delay of 1 hour, 37 minutes.

Oakmont was soaked in the weeks prior to the U.S. Open, then largely dried out until a deluge dropped more than an inch of rain on the course on Friday evening. On Sunday, dark clouds gathered as Scott and Burns played their first few holes.

The U.S. Open final round was halted at 4:05 p.m. after torrential rain soaked Oakmont, leaving standing water on the greens and in fairways.
