The wildest trade deadline ever has passed, so it's time to reassess — though everyone is still chasing the Thunder and Cavaliers.

What was arguably the most memorable NBA trade deadline in history (and one that may never be duplicated) has come to an end, and we're still in the process of retrieving our jaws from the floor after Luka Doncic somehow ended up alongside LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before the trade became official, a few fans wondered whether NBA commissioner Adam Silver could step in and keep the move from going through. Although Silver didn’t immediately acknowledge if he was talking about the Doncic trade, he did address the hypothetical of a veto Wednesday on Barstool’s “Pardon My Take.”

Luka Doncic produced 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in his Los Angeles Lakers debut and LeBron James added 24 points, seven rebounds and eight assists as the newly formed star duo led the way to a 132-113 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Monday.

According to one reporter, the Lakers weren't the only team that had the opportunity to acquire Luka Doncic from the Mavericks.
