A Florida lawmaker and notable civil rights attorneys are calling out Jacksonville Sheriff's Office after a video showing an officer striking an unarmed Black man in the face during a traffic stop.
“Can you call your supervisor?” the driver asks. The officer can be heard saying, “All right, go for it,” then the video shows another officer smash the driver’s side window and yell for him to exit the vehicle as he punches the driver in the face.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said it has launched an internal investigation into the circumstances surrounding an incident that occurred in February, but was shown in a video posted to social media early Sunday morning.
