The Diocese of Norwich has announced the appointment of Monsignor Richard F. Reidy as its new bishop, following a decision by Pope Francis.

He completed his seminary studies at the Athenaeum of Ohio Mount Saint Mary Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was ordained in June 1993.

Father David Esquiliano, who serves as the judicial vicar of the diocese, and pastor of Cathedral Parish, said in an article written in Lumen Media that the Pope will accept Bishop Nickless’s resignation when he is able to appoint a new bishop.
