The trailer features the MTG logo doing some impressive airbending, with the familiar sounds of the show’s original opening in the background. And the caption understood the assignment, as it begins with the well-known line “Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.”

Magic: the Gathering has officially announced its next major "Universes Beyond" crossover, bringing Avatar: the Last Airbender to the card game.

A brief teaser video gave a quick glimpse of the characters and art that will feature in the set, but no cards were unveiled at the panel. The Avatar expansion will launch November 21, while Final Fantasy is scheduled for June and Spider-Man is still awaiting its release date.

According to the announcement, MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender will be hitting shelves on November 21. It's unclear what the set will involve in terms of products, but we can probably expect something similar to the Assassin's Creed crossover last year. (Play and Collector boosters at a minimum, in other words.)

This year's preview panel at MagicCon Chicago showcased a bunch of cards from the upcoming Tarkir: Dragonstorm set, as well as from Edge of Eternities. But tucked away at the end was a little treat for fans of the Universes Beyond crossovers—the announcement of an Avatar: The Last Airbender set, due in November this year.
