AUSTIN, Texas (KAUZ) - Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Thursday that he would put over 7,000 personnel on standby ahead of planned anti-ICE protests this weekend. That group includes over 5,000 Texas National Guard Troops who will be bolstered by over 2,000 DPS troopers.
As protests continue in the U.S. over immigration enforcement raids, Abbott says he will deploy the state's National Guard as needed.
Noem threatened Biden for considering activating the Guard in Texas over governor's objections, but praises Trump for doing it in California.
